RESERVING A VILLA


What are the payment terms for my reservation?
Guests are required to put a non-refundable 25% deposit when booking their reservation. The non-refundable balance on the reservation is due 30 days prior to check in and will be processed on the credit card provided for deposit unless Buena Vista Reservations Department is otherwise notified.

Can I charge my reservation on several different credit cards?
We understand that many times several families or individuals are sharing rental units. For that reason, we will accept multiple credit card payments on any reservation. It is important the individual calling in with their credit card information provide the reservations department with the reservation number (when assigned) and the dollar amount that they will be paying. All payments are non- refundable. Charges will appear as “Luxury DMP” on your credit card statement.

What are your rates?

Is there a minimum stay required?
The only time of the year that there is a minimum stay required is during the December/January holiday season, at which time the minimum stay is 7 nights. Please see the rates page to see the dates for the current year.

What is your cancellation policy?
A guest could cancel their reservation at any time, however any deposits or payments made on the reservation are non-refundable. Cancellations will only be accepted in writing, please send to [email protected].

Can you guarantee the bedding in my villa?
We will accept requests on bedding configurations for your rental; however, we cannot guarantee all requests will be met. We do our best to honor all requests and requests are accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Can you guarantee the view from my villa?
We will accept requests on views for your rental; however, we cannot guarantee all requests will be met. We do our best to honor all requests and requests are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Please note that the Select Villas Junior Suites all have jungle with partial ocean views.

When will I see additional charges on my credit card after check out?
Upon check out you will receive a guest summary report for charges you have incurred while vacationing at Buena Vista Luxury Villas. This initial charge will be processed at time of check out. Post check out charges, those that were not available at time of check out will be charged separately, approximately 1 to 2 days after check out. Please note that these charges will appear on your credit card statement as Sunset Villas of Manuel Antonio. TRANSPORTATION


How do I get from San Jose, Costa Rica to Buena Vista Luxury Villas?
When visiting Costa Rica, guests will fly internationally into San Jose, Costa Rica. From there, there are 3 options:

  1. Buena Vista’s reservation representative can arrange for ground transportation. This is a private transportation for just you and your traveling companions. The ride is approximately 2 1/2 hours. Please contact Buena Vista Luxury Villas for current pricing.
  2. Commercial Flights: from San Jose to Quepos, approximately a 25-minute flight. This flight can be booked directly at www.flysansa.com or www.natureair.com. Buena Vista’s staff can then arrange for ground transportation from the Quepos airport to the property. (Approximately a 10-15 minute drive) Buena Vista’s reservation staff can also book private charger flights for parties up to 18 people. Please contact Buena Vista Luxury Villas for current pricing.
  3. Renting a vehicle: There are several car rental establishments at the San Jose airport in which to rent a vehicle. Please note that if you are not familiar with the roads in Costa Rica, self-driving may take over 3 hours.   The roads are well paved and easy to navigate.  Please contact Buena Vista Luxury Villas for assistance with your vehicle rental.

PROPERTY/MANUEL ANTONIO INFORMATION


Once I get to Buena Vista Luxury Villas, where do I go to check in?
Upon arrival, you will give the representative at the main Tulemar Gardens gatehouse your name. He/she will direct you to the Reception area, where you will be met by one of the Buena Vista Luxury Villas concierges. At this point, you will complete the proper check in forms and put a credit card on file for incidentals on property.  He/she will process your check in and escort you to your villa to familiarize you with your unit. Our driver and/or concierge will also assist you with transporting your bags to your unit.

Are there restaurants close by?
Buena Vista Luxury Villas offers breakfast, lunch and bar services at the Tulemar Beach.  Click “here” for current menus.  We also offer poolside grilling and bar service at the Family Pool.  Click “here” for current menu.   Victoria’s and L Sol offer room service.   In addition to our services, there are many restaurants in close walking distance and/or a short taxi ride from property. Guests can charge dinner to their room if they choose to dine at Victoria’s, just across the road from property.

How far is the exclusive Tulemar Beach?
The Tulemar Beach is at the bottom of the hill within the Tulemar Gardens property. The walk from the top of the hill to the beach is approximately 15 minutes depending on your physical ability. It is a steep incline so the return walk would be about 25 minutes back to the main gate. For your convenience, Buena Vista Luxury Villas has a courtesy van that will transport you to any location within the Tulemar Gardens property, this is a free service for all guests.

How far is the Manuel Antonio public beach?
The Manuel Antonio public beach is approximately a 10-minute taxi ride from Buena Vista Luxury Villas. You can request that your concierge have a taxi pick you up on the property to take you to the beach. Return taxis are readily available.

How far is the Manuel Antonio National Park?
The Manuel Antonio National Park is adjacent to the public beach. The Manuel Antonio public beach is approximately a 10-minute taxi ride from Buena Vista Luxury Villas. You can request that your concierge have a taxi pick you up on the property to take you to the beach. Return taxis are readily available

VACATIONING AT BUENA VISTA LUXURY VILLAS


Do you require a credit card on file at check in?
We do require a credit card on file at check in and you cannot check in with out this information. Even if you do not plan on charging anything to your villa, we require this for any potential damage or breakage to items that may occur in your villa during your stay.

Are any meals included with my stay?
No, no meals are included with your rental rates.

Can I charge items to my villa?
Yes, you could charge the following items to your villa:

  • Beach beverage or food service
  • Pool beverage or food service
  • Tour
  • In villa mini bar charges
  • Phone charges
  • Room service
  • Victoria’s dining
  • Spa services
  • Private chef services

At time of check out you will be presented with a Guest Services summary to review your charges that are received by the time of your check out. Please note that phone charges and last minute villa charges may not be available at the time of your check out and will be processed seperately.

Does Buena Vista Luxury Villas offer a concierge service?
Yes, Buena Vista’s concierges are on staff from 6am – 10pm to assist you with all of your vacation needs.

Does Buena Vista offer daily maid service?
Yes.

Is there internet service available on the property?
Buena Vista Luxury Villas offers free WiFi from all units and all pools.

Is there a phone number I can leave with family members?
The phone number to the main switchboard within the Tulemar Gardens property is: 011-506-2777-0580. The caller would need to know your villa number, which will be assigned to you at check in. Once they have this number, they would simply dial it in when the recorded message picks up. They could also select “0″ to speak with an operator to ask for you by the last name that the reservation is under.

Will my cell phone work in Costa Rica?
You will have to check with your cell phone provider.

Do I need to bring towels?
No, you do not need to bring towels. Buena Vista Luxury Villas provides in unit towels, pool towels and beach towels to guests.

Are there safes in the units?
Yes, each bedroom has its own safe. You set the safe with your own personal identification number.

What happens if I should become ill during my stay?
Buena Vista works with an independent medical doctor in Manuel Antonio who is available on a 24-hour basis and will come to your villa. He charges approximately $150 for a visit and will provide a bill, which should be accepted by most medical insurance companies. There is also a hospital in Quepos for more serious issues.

Does my villa have a phone?
Yes, there is a phone in your villa with an answering machine.  Local and international dialing instructions are posted in unit.

What are the standard tipping procedures in Costa Rica?
A 10% service charge is usually added to your restaurant bill. Gratuities are not included for drivers, maids, guides or other staff but are customary and left to your discretion as an individual expression of appreciation. $1.00 to $5.00 per person a day depending on the level of service. Tip porters and bellhops $1.00 per bag and maids from $1.00 – $3.00 per day per room.

Do I need to exchange money to Costa Rican Colones?
The official currency of Costa Rica is the Colon, but U.S. dollars are widely accepted. If you have denominations of $20 or less, most, if not all places, including taxis, will take the U.S. dollars and will give you change in colones. If you only have high denomination bills, you will need to go to the bank.

U.S. dollars and travelers checks can be exchanged in banks between 9:00am and 3:00 pm Monday thru Friday. You will need to bring your passport with you in order to change currency. Major credit cards and travelers checks are accepted at most restaurants throughout the country. ATM’s are available Manuel Antonio and there is are two conveniently located across the street from the property, at the Promerica Bank complex and Banco de Costa Rica. These ATMs dispenses both colones and U.S. dollars.

Most independent guides and tours only accept cash.

Are there washer/dryers in the villas?
There are washer/dryers in the Premium Villas only.

Do you offer a laundry service?
Yes, forms are available in your villa for this service.

Do I need an adapter for electricity?
The electrical outlets in Costa Rica are 110V.

Do all bathrooms have hair dryers?
Yes, each bathroom has its own hair dryer.

What if I leave belongings on property?
If you forget something on site, we can get them back to you within one month.  There is a $100 fee for this service.
